Good Chinese Seafood Restaurant

If I had to pick one Chinese restaurant to dine at for seafood, it would have to be Pearl Restaurant. The food here is well prepared and is always consistent. I would go here just for the 'tea smoked chilean sea bass'. It's one of my favorite fish dishes. Traditional Asian weddings are usually held at Chinese restaurants and usually consist of 9 course meals served family style. The pictures below are from my friend's wedding reception that was held at this particular restaurant. What better way to highlight the food here than pictures of a 9 course meal that was served up? The cold plate consist of all sorts of cold cuts/meat appetizers and is a great way to start off a meal. The shark fin soup here is always good. The birds nest holds a variation of sauteed items and it's nice to look at; the nest itself is made with a bundle of fried noodles. The peking duck (known for it's crispy skin) is served with small white pancakes that you can top off with sweet hoisin sauce and scallions; this dish dates back to the Imperial era of China and was made for royalty. The lobster was cooked in garlic and scallions which to me is the best way to prepare lobster; there's so much flavor to it. Next, you have the abalone served on a bed of chinese broccoli. Be careful when handling these, they're very slippery. Fried rice and mango jello dessert ends the meal. So let me remind you that you can enjoy good Chinese food on any given night and it doesn't have to be at a wedding ;)
Careful...the food is EXTREMELY SPICY at
Ba Ren Szechuan Restaurant, San Diego CA4957 Diane Ave (between Clairemont Mesa Blvd & Conrad Ave)

The food here is so spicy, you can probably kill all your taste buds in one sitting. AND I'M NOT JOKING ;P I would have to say probably 85% of the menu entrees are spicy (unless told otherwise). I've had spicy food before but this place is one of the top ones on my list. The food is good (don't get me wrong) but the spices can definitely upset your stomache. I apologize for I don't remember everything I've ordered here due to my short-term memory. I have ordered their beer duck stew which was actually pretty good; their fish dish was very spicy with nice filet pieces; and their chicken dish was tasty and wasn't dry. They have quite a selection of cold cuts and salads that you can request them to throw together for you (they use to allow you get serve it yourself buffet style); I think that's considered to be your appetizer but you don't get charged for it ;) Nice huh? Keep in mind the portions are served family style so they're pretty big; don't order too much unless you're going to share and plan on taking home leftovers.
Eating is golden here...especially their CHICKEN WINGS
Golden Chopsticks Restaurant

Nobody does chicken wings like Golden Chopsticks! Their wings are one of a kind. I KID YOU NOT! They are ADDICTING!!! They have garlic, scallions, pepper, and salt seasoned over them. They always come out crispy, juicy, and tender. It's a big party hit when I order them for potlucks and parties. You can't get enough of them I swear. Okay no more rambling about the wings, just make sure you get them. My family and I dined here and ordered their other dishes including their calamari, honey walnut shrimp, and hot seafood skillet. I have to say the food came out pretty quick (that's probably because they have like 15+ cooks in the back). All the food was tasty but my favorite is still the WINGS ;P
Get some lobster and clams at

This place is kind of a hole in the wall in the middle of no where. I go here with my family for their butter lobster. Their BUTTER LOBSTER is TO DIE FOR! You'll just want to scrape the bottom of that plate clean afterwards. And I'm not the only one to say this, my other friends think so too. Their clams is served in a clay pot just like how it's traditionally cooked; not many places still do that. Rice is brought to the table to share. I enjoy the food here or else I wouldn't blog about it. So with that said...have yourself some clams and lobster ;p
